When you step back and think about it, the idea of a Jewish person working with Nazis is only slightly more absurd than the existence of Slavic Nazis in the first place.

There's only one way to "reform" Nazis. It involves a mine shaft and a lot of concrete.
As I understand it he tried to reign them in but entrenched nazi militias are prone to doing whatever they want and there's not really anything that the president can do about the army deciding they want to do their own thing
