it's wild how many people seem to have trouble (or straight up refuse) using preferred pronouns because they have imagined a person who will get very angry at them if they make an honest mistake.
I once got into an argument with a boomer who was mad that they were asked to use the singular "they" as a pronoun for someone, and they were fucking convinced that the singular "they" was some modern fad invention - despite using the fucking singular they in the same sentence multiple times.
