I thought you didn't need high octane gas unless your engine knocked.
My granddad gave me his old Ford LTD. That thing had to be filled with expensive premium because it knocked if I didn't.
That’s true, but at the time this ad was produced engine knocking was a much bigger issue than it is now, which is why lead was added.
