Why do city cops need camo?

Edit: at least it's city colors I guess.

Reminds me of how European cops wear high-vis colors so that people can find them, whereas American cops (and their vehicles) hide so they can sneak up on you.

I've seen cops do some wretched shit but I can't think of anything more shameful than what these people did. I doubt they'll even have to change jobs

I'n hoping this town of 13,000 is close knit enough to severely punish their police department in any way possible. People are deeply deeply angry. But I won't underestimate this cursed land.

hopefully it will go better than when Norman, Oklahoma attempted to decrease the police budget

        (cw: rape) https://www.oklahoman.com/story/news/crime/2020/07/11/woman-recognizes-attackers-voice-in-threatening-messages/60392404007/

bet they're working really hard at solving this case

I think it really outlines sharply how material (and by extension social) relations curtail the pretend "democracy" that libs believe in. like, I could agitate at a local level against the police budget at the risk of having demented police vigilantism against my home and family.

then they hide behind "democracy" to pretend that we all consented to cops sucking up most of the city budget

Fun Fact: The Supreme Court has ruled at least twice (DeShaney v. Winnebago County and Castle Rock v. Gonzales) that the police actually have zero obligation to help you regardless of the circumstances.

Yep, and they went past that by actively stopping the parents from helping their children as they literally bled out
