Anyone have any good guides for DIY plate carriers? I read through some articles but so far sentences like "homebrew plates create too much shrapnel upon impact from .22lr" haven't been encouraging. I'd rather my insides not be turned into the world's worst Pico De Gallo.
It'd be nice if you didn't have to pay $200-$300 for self-protection.
You can sometimes find surplus plate carriers on E-bay. get real plates, though. Save up if you have to. It's worth it to get get real, certified III+ NIJ certified plates.
