I appreciate this post but I'm excited for the time when we can transcend the speech-act and later even communication itself as we merge minds into a singular multitudinous consciousness where all misunderstanding is erased.

Also he doesn't think recognizing the actual reality that voting can take all day and you don't just get to take time off work whenever is "realistic." He said he wants to live in the real world, where voting only takes 5-10 minutes.

  • Other than lab accidents, the last known smallpox case was in the 70s. You may have heard about some accidents where people were exposed to smallpox or some mishandling happened.

You may have confused smallpox outbreaks with the black plague (Yersinia pestis) which does occasionally pop up periodically. Or perhaps the measles which was declared eradicated in the continental US in 2000 but has made a comeback in no small part due to anti-vax proliferation.

He pointed to the one that infamously lost as a viable society? And why is his input or analysis valuable?

Yeah the situation isn't ripe for immediate insurrection but doing the vote blue no matter who thing has not worked at all and it's precisely people like Chomsky that has led the left into this no-win scenario between Trump and Biden when the enemy has always been and remains the liberal bourgeois democratic system. Bernie was the last shot and we were defeated on that liberal bourgeois electoralist terrain - no surprise because voting and campaigning for Bernie didn't require mass class consciousness nor did it require militancy nor internal discipline and so when it was faced with an organized opposition it fell as all siloed off individual leftist projects are wont to do.

  • and did a thing where black people marched in front of everyone else

They're getting trained to do that. I can't recall where I saw it but I did read that a white lib tried to get people to separate and self-segregate; stuff like "if you're white you shouldn't march with them, let it be their movement! We'll have a separate march for white people" and when someone shot her down she was apparently shocked and said that's how they're being trained.

When the multi-racial working class is united the bourgeoisie tremble. We know the overt ways they can back up white supremacy and kkk and lynch mobs and all that. But they can also back these "woke" libs and fill their heads with nonsense (like when they filled BLM hastags with black screens and prevented activists from reaching people and with the white-guilt industrial complex right now).

All of it is false consciousness.

How do we counter this annoying trend comrades?

With true class consciousness that simultaneously recognizes the intersectional ways that racism affects racialized people but is also unafraid to march along side their comrades arm in arm and is unafraid to use their privileges, such as they are, to speak up for marginalized voices. There is no better cure than solidarity - it can erase all boundaries and wipe out false consciousness. When you participate in a protest against the police and are arm-in-arm with black, asian, white all people together and you succeed in pushing back the pigs all that guilt can be burned out of libs minds and they can recognize that the only way to accomplish their class policy goals is not "wokeness" but solidarity.

I liked this DSA talk thing where they called Virgil style members the "Jacobin Marxists"/"Parliamentary Marxist" faction of the DSA. I can't find it again but it was also like 2 hours long and probably not worth the listen beyond that.

Chomsky is a liberal, no two ways about it.

I've had disagreements with anarchists but no serious anarchist would say the shit he did. Chomsky doesn't even think revolution is possible.

What the fuck has Chomsky's style of socialism got us in the last 40 years? Everything he's done and the "socialists" that worked like him has delivered us to 4, possibly 8, years of Trump and shitty Obama and shitty Biden. Fuck off Chomsky, your input isn't needed.

  • They prefer being in opposition. You get to fundraise off your opponent, you can promise whatever you want and never have to deliver, you don't need a coherent message across the whole party so AOC can be in the same party as Biden and no one will bat an eye, you get to send money to your advertising exec buddies, a whole class of PMC grifters can grow up around you like so much moss, and so on.

Then every once in a while when tensions get high in the working class you get to take all of that and redirect it to within the system and maybe make a small concession or two that will inevitably be undone by the GOP again.
