    I don't listen to much Punk (I've always been more of a reggae dude) but you couldn't be more correct in that it's impossible to distill 40 plus years of music into one band. Also, even if you don't like Punk the impact it had in the post punk world is undeniable. New Wave, Goth, Industrial, Electronic Dance, and New Romantic were all directly birthed from the Punk movement. Previous generation styles like Ska, Rockabilly and Folk were also revitalized by adding elements of Punk either musically or just in ethos (though some could debate this was de-evolution like in the case of 3rd Wave Ska which often is just Punk with Horns).

    Anyhow, I urge everyone to listen to London Calling all the way through before closing your minds to what a Punk band could acheive sonically. Or just listen to Youth Brigade and realize that the same shit people are bitching about now (cops beating on people, fascism, dystopian future) were pretty well covered 40 years ago.
