So, as someone with experience working in the field:

Fuck these IP hoarders. Semiconductor manufacturing is incredibly inefficient because there's like 30+ different companies subcontracting at every fab jealously hoarding their IP and charging ludicrous prices. The same production could be done with 10% of the workforce, or with workers working 10% of their current hours in a full communist system. The decentralized market-forces model of semiconductor manufacturing has severely held back productivity, efficiency, and technological innovation, all so some fucking capitalists can buy more yachts. This kind of shit radicalized me as much as anything else.

I fully support manufacturers in China ripping off western companies when they can to speed up their timelines, and I would help them if I could make sure it wasn't an FBI honeypot.

Fabs are also a perfect case for central planning and public organization. High capital investment requirements, everything goes in big, planned batches, demand is pretty obvious, it has clear public benefit...

They should all at least follow the Chinese model of worker ownership + state ownership.

Absolutely. And pharma is also tech, and both are really just production machines that take academic research and attempt to scale it + test it more thoroughly (in pharma's case, the government makes them do it, albeit the system is failing).

      Death to intellectual property!

On the subject of ideas, aka intellectual property: "Is there a limited amount of it? Oh, well does it cost a lot to give other people? No? So it's free and infinite, but you don't want to share it..."
