    I've seen blog posts and stuff from people who think they're being gangstalked, and it's actually really sad. All their evidence is stuff like "this person coughed in my direction" or "this really common ad was specifically set up to insult me, personally." It's clear that these are people who never got treatment they desperately need.

      Yeah, the internet is really awful for people with untreated mental health issues. It's far too easy to find a group that reinforces their paranoid delusions and encourages them, making their life worse and worse.

      definitely some of that, there's also an element of just normal conspiracy brain turned up to 11 where not only are there gigantic intricate global conspiracies that you are clued in on, your knowledge actually involves you in the plot itself as an unfairly persecuted victim. It's like if people liked a TV show so much they begin to identify as a character on it
