    Northumbrian identity has legs. It can’t work in the short term but give it 20-30 years of activist work to build pride while agitating against the south and it’ll get there.

    Oh yeah, NIP does seem like it could become something. But right now it's still not much.

      Yeah I'm not attacking. Just thought-streaming about it really. Some of these midlands towns are literally the poorest and most run down in the country but they voted Tory HARD in the last election and not just because of Brexit. They're really reactionary and both racism and "I don't like wokies" has been catching on. Racism has always been pretty bad here though, it was the worst place in the country for anti-Polish migrant racism.
