Soo i live in suburban hell and need to buy one to commute daily but I dont know anything about cars and I dont really know if I can trust random reviews on google.

I don't need anything big/fancy/powerful, just a car that will last and don't need much repairs and is fuel efficient. This would be for North America btw. Any recommendations? Also is it worth it to get a hybrid? I am looking to buy new since it seems like used ones are still super expensive atm.

I drove an American made car. The power brakes failed. Took it to the shop, and it was just a known issue. It was under recall so I got it fixed without having to pay, so that was nice. But I googled the issue and this problem, that they knew about, had caused many accidents.

Crazy to me that car manufacturers can just make cars where the brakes don’t work or they randomly explode and yet go on continuing to be car manufacturers. But that’s capitalism, I suppose.

Thanks for the heads up, I actually was kind of tempted by some of those but yeaa I'm happy to avoid anything american regardless. I'll def look into Toyota + Honda.

Is there much of a difference between the Prius and Corolla Hybrid?

The engine and hybrid system are exactly the same, just the styling is different. The Prius is more aerodynamic so you'll get better highway mileage, and it has more cargo space.
