I own a Maine (rac)removed. He is a Large Boy named Dill. (Not pickles, the character from ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’, his siblings have various names from the play.)
spoiler
I don’t care if that’s ‘proper name’… still not typing it.
Me too! (He has weighed around 19.5lbs for years, so he is BIG. I had to get a dog crate for him. None of the regular cat ones are large/sturdy enough.) He’s a talker, too. Especially when he wakes up. He stands there and… lack of a better word… talks about his dream. His vocalizing is very different on every occasion. It’s never the same length or just a single ‘meow’. It’s rhythms, pitch, and cadence has a human language feel. It’s eerie at times because it sounds like a an urgent message, but I don’t understand. Or, sometimes it’s just in passing on his way for a drink or a couple bites to eat. I’m never prepared to film and I always have an audiobook or podcast on that would drown out the nuances. I dunno, maybe I have a new hobby; domestic wildlife photographer, camouflaged by bellows of bong smoke or pretending I’m a desk chair, or to be honest just have my phone in hand amid silence. He’s a good cat. Plus… you know… Gotta video something…
