April O'Neil finally getting tired of being kidnapped and learning how to fight with improvised reporter weapons is delightful, especially because of the Epic G*mer tears about that.

Oh yeah it's a really fun beat em up. Very obvious references to all the greats in the best sort of homage way (lift arenas, garages opening with enemies inside, ambushes, you know the drill), but also with really clean combat and combos and it's own feel. As for the Turtles stuff, I honestly skipped every cutscene and am still enjoying it. Boss fights aren't the hardest, but there's some great regular enemies that are properly annoying in the good sense.

If you're a veteran I'd definitely recommend playing on the hardest difficulty from the start, or even arcade mode, as it's a little tuned to less experienced players: I'm a little tipsy after drinks with work and I played on medium and went 10 levels before I got a game over and bumped it up straight away after that.

One thing I'd definitely recommend if going into the options and turning off mash B to escape grapples and setting it to hold B instead: it was really wearing out my old hands spamming it

Game has an incredible soundtrack. There's even Raekwon and Ghostface Killah.
