So today I got a text from an unknown number (will provide number if asked for blocking purposes) saying this "working america: if your coworkers wanted to form a union at your job would you join".
I have an obvious answer for this but I am not responding. Has anyone else gotten a message like this?
Could be any number of organizations fleecing phone numbers. Personal data gets sold to absolutely everyone so it could be anyone from CIA, to some think tank, maybe some business advocacy group, maybe some lonely weirdo in a garage. Literally who knows. 90% of phone calls and texts in America are some kind of scam.

Absolutely. Which is generally why I only answer to contacts in my phone. To me everything else is Spam unless they leave a voicemail.
XD I assume Businesses that wanted my attention would leave actual voicemails. Otherwise family, though my mom has even gotten to text me if she wants to see how I am.
Ya if it's someone I know I guess I won't listen to a voicemail cause why didn't you just text, but a company or stranger should leave one (if my inbox is configured, and has space, and I feel like checking it ever)
It might be your employer doing a little proactive union-busting.
I doubt that as the company I work for is tiny and I'm sure my boss knows my thoughts on unions as it is.
I got one a few years ago asking about how something or something should change to better something. I responded with a picture of a guillotine and the person responded by laughing.
Nope, just get wrong number threatening texts all the time from furious people about stealing their SOs. I don't live in that area code anymore.
I almost never respond if I don't recognize the number, only time was someone to contact a relative with covid who was typing out an essay, had to tell her it was the wrong number.
Should’ve provoked them further, challenged them and then given them the address of your local chud politician of choice
