      child tax credit

How that was passed and then just allowed to die was a hell of a thing. In r/politics when I get really mad at libs piling on me with bullshit like "You don't understand how politics works - do you," - I resist the urge to tell them to fuck themselves.

Instead I say something that includes stuff like this: "Filibuster this. The child tax credit which was a fantastic thing. It rapidly cut child poverty by a lot but they designed the thing to fucking fail. It only lasted ~6 (or whatever) and then had to renew it but they just let it die. Good intentions are fine and all that but designing the bill to fail is fucking stupid and abject failure however you measure it.." and then I disable comments because I've talked too long already.
