i've definitely seen the kinds of comics you're talking about, and i feel like it's just one iteration of big ticket mainstream standup always going for the cheapest, easiest jokes aimed at the broadest possible audience. like i remember 10 years ago everything on Comedy Central was either a straight white guy imitating his girlfriend's whiny voice, or someone with an Identity riffing on the stereotypes (and how they're kinda true).
I remember he tweeted out a promise that his tour would have no weird transphobic surprise guests after John Mulaney did his stunt where he invited Dave Chapelle to open for him while giving him a big hug on stage right after Chapelle did a "trans-ch*nk" joke and asked a disabled woman with an assistant dog how much he'd have to pay to watch her have sex with the dog.
The Comedy is also a solid watch if you're interested in Tim's mindset. He's a solid guy honestly, been following him for awhile. Very down to earth, had some bad shit happen to him, and is just sort of in a good position to make money in comedy.
Also very funny
Also also check out his mock trial, don't have to watch all of it because him and his crew went ahead and did wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much of it (which sort of makes it funnier because it's fucking super realistic), but it's a hilarious critique of the US judicial process, or his role in our flag means death.
The mock trial is amazing if you have watched all of On Cinema beforehand. This fake little universe he’s made has incredible attention to continuity.
This guy was trying to kill his (not Tim's but the assailant's)elderly mother and heidecker intervened and got stabbed, almost died
yeah he looks good though, probably taking care of himself
