Ukrainian ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk claims that neither Bandera loyalists nor Ukrainians in general ever massacred Jews. Holocaust denial in one of Germany's most watched independent outlets

Interviewer: "The entire world acknowledges that Bandera was involved in the murder of hundreds of thousands of jews."
Melnyk: "No, that is not true. There is no evidence that Bandera's troops killed hundreds of thousands of jews. This is the narrative that the Russians are pushing to this day, which finds support in Poland, Germany, and Israel."
(keep in mind that Poland, Germany, and Israel all support this US-backed Ukrainian proxy war against Russia)
Interviewer: "So all of these claims are simply made up?"
Melnyk: "I do not know where they take this data from, but I am ready to talk to the Jewish communities about this, long as it stays factual."
Interviewer: cites a ukrainian pamphlet which openly calls for the annihilation of Jews, Poles and Russians, "signed" by Bandera
Melnyk: "What pamphlet?"
Interviewer: "It is a pamphlet from Ukraine when the Germans first arrived. They (Banderites) were distributing these among the Ukrainian population. It is very obvious."
Melnyk: "I will NOT distance myself from this (meaning Bandera) today, I can tell you that much. That is my decision. You might not understand that, but it is."
Interviewer: "Yes, I cannot understand how you can consider a mass murderer a hero."
How this reads to anyone paying attention:
Government of Ukraine, what are you willing to do in order to join Europe?
"Anything!"
Ruin your economy by deindustrializing and severing vital ties with Russia?
"Yes!"
Start a 8 year long ethnic conflict in Donbass on behalf of the USA?
"Yes!"
Disown the genocidal antisemitic nazi-collaborating fascist Stepan Bandera and find a more palatable national hero?
"Woah woah woah. Slow down. Too far. Also it didn't happen!"
I'm pretty sure that's a literal crime in Germany (unless it only applies to denial of the Holocaust that took place within German borders but that seems unlikely?)
Ukrainian politicians could piss on every Holocaust monument we have in Germany and our media would praise their bravery
Apparently the road leading to the Holocaust museum in Ukraine is named after Bandera lol
