Uvalde School District has only about 4000 students, K-12. 2500 or more of these students are going to be below the age of 12. There are 8 distinct schools, probably 300 or so teachers all told. Yet, somehow there are 5 "police officers", including a "detective" and a Chief of Police
What would an average day look like for these guys? I bet on AVERAGE absolutely nothing happens. On AVERAGE they all hang out and fuck around and play browser games. Occasionally they may go arrest a student for vandalism or marijuana possession, but that's probably about it.
My point is they're security guards making 8x the salary. This guy was "Chief of Police" like the custodian who orders supplies is "Head Custodian".
I believe him when he says he didn't know he was in charge. Who the fuck in the same situation, would assume they'd be the person to order regular PD, Border Patrol, and FBI around during a crisis like that? It's a cop out from the other agencies.
