    Idk who discovered using the word czar in any way other than referring to Eastern European monarchs but it's weird that it became a thing.

    It's literally just calling someone the King of something why you gotta use a foreign word for King

      Liberal political journalists literally know 2 words to describe executive appointments: czar and tapped. Every article is just them cramming these two words into every sentence.

      It can be fun to mix things up, Czar, king, monarch, sultan, emperor, dictator, etc. Allow you to use different words to the same effect, and can allow alliteration. But czar is also Russian and therefore scary (even though it's just Caesar going through a game of telephone). If I were the writer, he'dbe the crown- prince of anti-corruption, getting some consonance while also quipped on the nepotis nature of his name.
