23 year old air conditioner broke, it is literally 95+ degrees in my home

somehow there are only like 3 or 4 (of the most common size) units left in the entire state of florida so i'm just waiting

please fucking shoot me, it would be a genuine kindness

failing that, any advice for not succumbing to heatstroke would be appreciated

it's ice time. you got a fridge? time to use it. make as much ice as you can, also stick your head in the freezer to cool off. another idea might be something like a dehumidifier, since one of your main challenges is the shear humidity of florida air. you can also help yourself by keeping your windows closed and your blinds down and your doors all closed during the hot and bright parts of the day. this is something that they do in places like the Levant to manage interior heat without active cooling. I don't have an A/C where I live, but it still gets 85 F + with > 90% humidity all the time so this is what I do to stay cool.

all good advice though, i'm doing all of the above rn except the dehumidifier since i don't have one

though that would certainly help; may have to consider splurging
