There’s basically bo air conditioning on the entire island, their houses are terribly insulated and lack things like ceiling fans and good ventilation, and when they built things like the underground they never bothered to consider the idea of removing heat from the area. As soon as it’s above 80 you’re hot and miserable all day long with no reprieve.
As a Floridian I absolutely love England’s weather, but I’d take 100 in Florida over 85 in England any day. And if I lived on terf island the first thing I’d buy is a window AC unit so I’d at least have one save room to retreat to.
It’s fucking hot, it’s projected to reach above 38C which is the hottest it’s ever been here. When there are old people dying in their homes because of the heat I think we have a right to complain
