The coup was the inciting incident of my mother’s political journey towards becoming a communist in her younger days and her subsequent move to the USSR. My parents met there.

I went to Dresden on 9-11, took a wrong tram. Ended up in front of a memorial for Salvador Allende with flowers on it. Later that night watched a Chilean band in Berlin.
