    God fucking damn it, I knew what I was getting into but I forgot that people say that the USSR committed multiple ethnic cleansing campaigns. Fuck these people and fuck that website. The liberal conception of :freeze-peach: is completely non-functional if one has any interest in opposing fascism.

    Like, sitting idly by in Nazi Germany is one thing, but being a Wehrmacht soldier and engaging in combat is not justified even at gun point. There is no number of minorities that you are entitled to butcher to preserve your own life. Moreover, it wasn't at gun point! This asshole could have taken one on the chin and gone to prison and he would have been released much more quickly than he ended up being, all at the cost of not collaborating in the extermination of Slavs and Jews on the eastern front!

      Massacring civilians didn't even get you a prison sentence, the nazis knew not everyone is able to shoot unarmed people in the back and didn't ask that of common grunts. This is well documented. There was no pressure in that regard. You couldn't refuse getting drafted without getting jailed, but participating in the mass murders was a voluntary thing. The people who did that wanted to, every single one of them.

      Noooo you don't understand, if he didn't go do war crimes the government would kill him and his entire family. Because that was the standard nazi punishment for draft dodging.
