Beijing, Jul 19 (Prensa Latina) China reiterated today its warnings to the United States about the approval of strong measures if the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, finally makes a postponed visit to Taiwan.
Why would they do that though? The only actual reason they say they want Taiwan is because it became a propaganda/national pride thing. Taiwan is obviously not a military threat to China. Taiwan will never harbor US bases like Okinawa.
I don't even know what that means. There are and always have been Taiwanese people doing business in China. Even if China becomes a much better place to live in the next 20 years Taiwanese people aren't going to choose for Taiwan to be owned by China.

I agree they don't need to because they're already economically absorbing it
