Haven't had French toast in years. Used to do Alton Brown's method. Anybody got a good vegan recipe?
e: I'm looking for recipes you yourself have actually tried. I don't want to waste food experimenting with substitutes.

Never thought about vegan French toast before. Just some quick googling came up with whole fat milk and cornstarch as an egg replacer.
So I'd imagine that any fatty milk alternative, coconut milk (maybe) or soymilk, with cornstarch mixed in slowly to get to a correct consistency would be a pretty solid way to go. I bet, if you can get a small can of coconut cream (Asian food section in US stores), add just enough water to make it runny and then add cornstarch to thicken it up, would be pretty damn awesome.
