I'm guessing they were unable to say "this lucifer is too sexy, please make a less sexy one" because it would be too scandalous to say it out loud, so they relied on the other sculptor being able to infer the obvious, but he was like "hmm they must have liked my brother's sexy lucifer a lot, I'll make an even sexier one"
