Weird that I've only ever heard white people say that. I wonder why.

On the other hand, American pigs would probably have found him barely alive clinging to a log and then shot him for holding onto a "potentially leathal blugeoning weapon".

Death to all NSW police - protect our first nations peoples and save all the minors they stripsearch and abuse in public
Death to all VicPol - protect our first nations peoples and our LGBTQ+ community, who they seem to "accidentally" bash all too often
Death to all QLD cops - protect our first nations peoples, especially from the corrupt former pig who may or may not be the leader of an opposition political party

There are only 800k Aboriginal people but 1 billion Europeans

this means that one Aboriginal is worth the lives of over 1,000 Europeans

of all the things i hate on :reddit-logo: the dipshits who perpetuate this might be what i hate the most

in 99% of contexts its just as offensive as anywhere else and if you say it anywhere near any sort of even vaguely left space youre gonna have a bad time

i do enjoy the idea of american reddit dipshits turning up and loudly and proudly saying it to someone and instantly earning the hatred of everyone around them tho

:reddit-logo: bazinga brains think they're so clever by claiming it's a universally friendly slang in their enlightened le Australia or Scotland or wherever else they want to LARP as native to, and that defense is after they use it to rage about Anita Sarkeesian or Amy Schumer or whoever, then they call you a c*nt for bringing it up. Mate. :so-true:

It isn’t universally friendly, it is used both ways by anyone who says it, speaking for Australia. Anyone claiming otherwise is just bullshitting.

exactly - it's entirely contextual and usually modified by the leading word (it's pretty clear that "dog c*nt" and "sick c*nt" mean different things)

while there's a question as to whether a gendered slur should have became a catch-all swearword, the moron redditors who literally do not go outside (and usually are yankoids anyway, not australian) get pointlessly defensive of it whenever anyone suggests that you actually need to engage your brain and consider context before saying it

That's exactly my point. :reddit-logo: 's general population tends to cling to one cool foreign culture at a time, idolize it, LARP as it, then move on like locusts.

The flipside, I think, is also true. Being told over and over again in an international and public forum that that word doesn't just have local context seems more like spite than ignorance after a while if it keeps getting used.

Also, I highly doubt the cop was being chummy with the Aboriginal person here. Did cultural context matter there?

Taking that far enough, if a bunch of Deep South :lmayo: really wanted to use their own cultural contexts to talk about black people and wanted to play the cultural context card to demand the entire world let them say all the :frothingfash: they desire, hard-rs and all, should that be given the same pass?

I've argued with chanlords, including offline, about their use of transphobic slurs, which they claim are "joking/ironic" and then claim that "some (transphobic slur here)s like being called that." Same deal.
