i have a theory that reviews, in general, are a vehicle for the reviewer to advertise their brilliant discernment and have very little to do with the thing being reviewed, which doesn't matter because the audience of the review is mostly people who haven't seen/heard the thing being reviewed.

rarely do reviewers prove me wrong.
