      The flag at Iwo Jima is the neck and neck with Tehran. It sure as heck looks staged but at least it was cool and reflected something real, not just some politicians wife walking around carefully set up weckage

        I mean, the shot was staged, but troops did actually take Iwo Jima in a major military victory against the Japanese.

        I have no idea what this is supposed to be celebrating.

        Even the old Bush "Mission Accomplished" banner was supposed to be triumphant. This is nothing.

        They have strong "Its the End of History and we'll do what we want" vibes.

        That Americans didn't revolt the moment those were made public is all you need to know when you're asked "Does this country have a right to exist?"
