it's just a dogwhistle for racism, they give zero shits about states rights if it conflicts with their goals. which is why they will surely try to ban abortion in all 50 states.
also, they give even less of a shit about municipal or local autonomy. red states constantly fuck with blue municipalities passing simple ordinances like plastic bag bans or changing their zoning laws to not be suburban-sprawl-required. Texas is especially bad with this
