        I am not a member of this comm and yet every post from it still shows up in the main feed. As far as I know there is no functionality to block or unfollow a comm.

    Sooner or later, a fungus will mutate an ability to eat all that abundant plastic.

    And then it will spread and quickly overtake non-plastic-eating fungi.

    It will begin removing plastic from the environment, even if it takes thousands of years.

    But it will also start eating plastics we don't want to see eaten.

    So Bayer will start bathing the planet in a fungus-killing herbicide to protect our precious plastics.

    And then all fungus everywhere will die.

    And then all plant life everywhere will die with it.

    Or maybe not, I dunno.

      This isn't plastics, it's super-stable fluorine-carbon molecules that don't ever decay, that make you infertile and obese and give you cancer, but they're really useful industrially so it's hard to say how we should approach the situation.
