Michael Brand from the "moderate" conservative CDU party, who will likely be part of the delegation:
The Chinese leadership has to watch out that it doesn't become a dragon spewing empty threats on the international stage. A bit more Asiatic discipline would be appropriate.
Visits from German MPs to Taiwan have happened in the past without causing diplomatic incidents, but Jhy-Wey-Shieh, the Taiwanese represenative in Germany (meaning, the de-facto ambassador) has asked for the parliament's president Bärbel Bas (SPD) to head the delegation:
The inhibitions to travel to Taiwan must fall.
Bärbel Bas' office was reasonable enough to decline that invitation, stating that there is an agreement not to do visits of "sovereignty-relevant" politicians to Taiwan. This includes the heads of the executive, legislative and judicative branches of government, the chancellor, the federal president and the secretaries of defense and foreign relations.
Unfortunately, foreign relations secretary Annalena Barbock has already singaled her support of Pelosi's visit in recent days and is a hardcore lib who has studied poli sci at the london school of economics (read: she is an idealist fool who wholeheartedly believes in the democratic regime change ideology of American neocons), so we'll have to see how this develops.

BMW, Mercedes, and Audi executives absolutely shitting themselves right now.
I think China is really pushing bourgeois western governments into a sort of crisis - actually a sort of collapse, I would say. The fundamental purpose of bourgeois governments are to manage intra and inter class conflict. We all know too well how good these governments are at stamping out inter-class conflict (on behalf of the capitalists). But just as importantly, they have to manage all the conflicts that arise between capitalists.
It really feels like a large number of western politicians and parts of the bourgeoisie are going "off script" here and trying to stop China's rise. But then you have a whole other class of capitalists who need China - everyone from like BMW as you say to Walmart, which cannot function without cheap Chinese goods. Personally I think this is because the capitalist class and their lackeys in government simply have no answer for how to stop China. None. Because there isn't any. There is no scenario in which they can stop China's rise without destroying their own economies. Trying to foment rebellion in East Turkestan was probably their last shot. They needed China to collapse from within and that's never happening now.
They don't have an answer for China because there isn't one. And all this chaos you see in response is essentially cope and seethe from the western bourgeoisie and their governments.
Yeah, I think Deng's reforms made a gamble on the idea that capitalists have no loyalty to their host countries and only to profit. That gamble has paid off in a big fucking way.
I think the reason China has never done anything like nationalize a foreign business is because the CPC still thinks that the capitalists who own those foreign industries will lobby their own governments without even any input from China.
Not only will capitalists sell us the rope with which we hang them, they will sell us their whole country if we put enough money on the table.
Some lectures on dengism from xinhua university + observing how completely incapable the west is at controlling china now put to rest all of my "dengist china is basically capitalist" brainworms. Deng's gamble is paying off big time.
It doesn't matter if a cat is black or white, as long as it
catches micefucks up the West. This is the lesson I’ve sort of learned over the past few days. Like I was actually shocked how many msm in US have been like “okay yes democracy and freedom and all that buttttttttt are we sure visiting Taiwan is a good idea at this moment?! What about le economy?!” re: China, literally right after/during their absolutely unhinged call for blood and self economic sabotage re: Russia.
I think somewhere deep down in the collective lib subconsciousness is the creeping realization that China will one day rise above the West and nobody wants to piss off the future boss.

Absolutely. The west can barely stomach an open confrontation with Russia economically, doing the same cold war bs with the PRC would be an unmitigated disaster for Europe and America, and Germany would be massively affected by this.
The West self-destruction speedrun any% let's gooooooooo
Death to America
