for no reason should you ever, ever, buy an ink printer. biggest scam on the planet. I'd also say nobody needs a color printer for personal use either, that's also a scam. for the love of God though never buy another ink printer in your life.

getting owned cus your cartridge is no longer detected. then getting owned again cus you opened a cartridge a month ago and the tip dried out before you even used it. classic.

I wouldn't be who I am today without those color printouts of Carmen Electra and Jenny Mccarthy my cousin made for me in 5th grade. Back when it took 10 minutes just to load to the cleavage line. Really taught me patience and perseverance. Character.

I got into a fight this week with someone who was bitching about the cost of a color printer.

I'm like, first if all, if ink is so expensive, why don't you see if it's cheaper just to print out the things you need at a print store? Well, she can't just send confidential documents (lol) to the store, and she doesn't have a computer so she can't put it on a USB and USBs are complicated anyway, and what if she needs something printed at the last minute?

So then I try, well why don't you get a laser printer in b&w? Those are a bit of an investment up front but at least the ink doesn't dry out and you don't need a color printer. Well, then she starts talking about how she needs a color printer because she needs to print photos of herself sometimes and recently she had to take a picture of some wires because there's work being done on her building and it's SO much CLEARER to say, the red wire rather than the top wire.

So I'm just like ok, keep your color inkjet printer and continue to pay through the nose for your ink, I don't really give a shit but stop complaining about the price of ink. If you're really printing that many copies of differently colored wires at 3am, you clearly have bigger issues.

Yes! I'd recommend Brother among the major brands. even the starter toner when you get a new one will last longer than a brand new full ink cartridge.

not to mention the printer itself will probably last longer too.

I have an ink printer, but I only use it for scanning, not printing. I got a better deal for its scanning features than if I bought a dedicated scanner, because they think they're going to recoup that discount on ink refills
