    TBH the sheer mass of a loaded cargo ship means that the bridge wouldn't have withstood it regardless

    But the just means that there should've been multiple safeguards to ensure that the collision didn't occur in the first place, so it's still a classic yank failure

      Yeah, if a car hits and kills a toddler, the problem isn't that the toddler wasn't built strong enough to resist a car. The problem is that there weren't enough systems and enforcement in place to stop a car from getting into the same space as a toddler.
