I offered to try to help them come up with some ways to just win the elections, but they declined. They were only interested in preparing for the worst.

Unpopular take on chapo but I don't like The Rehearsal as much as Nathan For You. Is it more artistic or something? I don't fuckin know do I look like a Roger Ebert??? All i know is N4U yielded at least 10x as many laughs from me

N4U pretty specifically made fun of help-a-business type reality TV, Rehersal is taking down reality TV & documentary in its entirety. very impressive stuff on screen and behind the production.

for all that i get fewer laughs too but i think it makes up for it with insanity and high-grade cringe

I think The Rehearsal is far more existential and has an interiority that N4U entirely lacks. Especially the later episodes walk this very fine line between genuineness and hilarity/sarcasm that gets to the root of Nathan's inability to come to terms with the fact that he's unable to control all the outcomes of events in the world, often times ending up in a place that he did not foresee coming that he wished he could avoid. His "rehearsals" are almost like a coping mechanism to reconcile with a world of relationships that he wishes he could redo. But they're often quite silly.

“Mr. Fielder is best known for convincing everyday people to buy into his far-fetched ideas, and at this point, there’s nothing more far-fetched than the idea that the Democratic Party is committed to real, prolonged change,”

God bless the Onion and its affiliates

Rehearsing for them will be easy, as there is nothing to them.
