I have really been enjoying Enshrouded with my partner
It's a survival + crafting RPG
Feels a bit like Valheim but way more polished and way more features
It doesn't start off super hard, it actually gets hard after you somehwat know what the fuck you're doing
It has the best building system I have ever seen. It's voxel based like minecraft except the cubes are about a quarter the width.
The voxel building parts actually blend together automatically in really nice ways. Buildings can look really amazing. And there are lots of accoutrements like window frames, furniture, etc etc, lots of wall types etc.
You don't have to lay individual blocks. You can pick from like 30 shapes and it will put, for instance, a 4 foot by 10 foot section of wall comprised of 30 or 40 blocks.
Excellent "Path of Exile lite" open class tree and very cheap re-spec lets you play any style. After leveling a bit you can pretty much pick any two: Tank, warrior, barbarian, athlete, survivor, beastmaster, ranger, assassin, trickster, wizard, healer, battlemage. Or go apeshit and pick 4 or 5 random half trees
Combat is great, enemies can be hard, lots of different moves can be unlocked in the tree
Early access but very polished, seems like they're just working on other parts of the map and/or story. The existing map is already quite huge.
I actually felt the difficulty get easier as the game went on. It started hard due to enemy damage but once I got used to Since there isn't much enemy variety the combat ended up a bit stale by the end of the playable area for my taste.
Yeah I think it was sort of a bell curve, they don't hit you in the face at the beginning, they basically let you wade into it. At level 7-10 or so we were venturing in higher level areas and getting 1-2 shot. But it does get easier once you have a lot of abilities.
I like that the enemies scale up with level but not like... A TON. A higher level enemy just has to be kited a lot, you'll die quickly, but they don't have a ridiculous amount of HP.

Still, good game.

Enshrouded, eh?
Let me write that name down!
