Actually no I do care. It's just so absurd and insulting to know that after causing untold suffering for the world, the perpetrators squabble among themselves over the stupidest shit while the victims are forgotten.

I only care in so far as i used to point out that local people took the surviving embassy staff to the hospital in their cars because all brown people are not a single evil faceless mass.

I don't know who Ben Gazzy is and at this point I'm afraid to ask.

I watched Road House last week and I had entirely forgotten he was in it. I remembered there was a crime boss but I all could remember is he was played by some forgettable actor. I don't dislike Ben Gazzara but I can never remember him.

In fact - I can never quite remember he wasn't in The Sopranos. In my memory I always morphs him into another actor, Robert Loggia, who had a similar face, voice, and "tough guy" performance style for bad guys. He's another forgettable actor to me.

          Show

In my googling - I was reminded clear how much better AI is making things...

Ben Gazzara appeared in which acclaimed HBO show?

The answer is "The Sopranos". Ben Gazzara played the role of Johnny "Sack" Sacramoni...

I think it is a fascinating situation. A perfect example of american crimes, obfuscation, and how the supposed "divide" here is used to cover for the real atrocities of this country

tbh I never learned what Benghazi was. apparently I wasn't following any news in 2012, because I also didn't know what Sandy Hook was until like a year later

I probably heard the word "Benghazi" for the first time in like 2015 and I still don't know anything about it

AFAIK the US embassy in Benghazi got attacked and wiped out, and the State Department and US military were uncoordinated in their response. Basically just the typical rot and incompetence of the imperial machine, which only knows how to do terror bombings with jets and drones and is confused and terrified by any other sort of conflict.

Chuds decided it was some sort of inside job conspiracy by the Secretary of State to facilitate an attack on State Department property and have been banging on about it ever since despite that being utterly mad compared to the mundane explanation that the US military is a shitshow hollowed out by graft and decades of doing nothing but massacring unarmed or poorly armed civilians.

You're forgetting that it happened under Hillary's watch as head of the State department so the GOP was using it to smear her before the 2016 presidential run, I think if anyone else was state dep head then the GOP would not have cared

True Anon has a very long episode on it with Felix, but I highly recommend it. They cover the Libyan intervention first and sorta tie it all together. Good if you want to feel righteously angry https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZKGCuKGb_w https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JYl2A3YTTQ

Same. I know nothing about it, despite it being mentioned numerous times leading up to the 2016 election. It seemed to get brought up as if everyone should know what it was and have an opinion about it, but no one ever bothered to mention what happened or why it was bad. It became a nonsense word. To this day I refuse to look it up.

You’re not crazy. At no point did I give a shit. It was the beginning of the end of me hanging out with my libertarian friend, who went on endlessly about Hillary’s buttery male treason.

unless there is some other Benghazi attack I don't know about, 4 people died. US Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, USFS officer Sean Smith, CIA contractors Tyrone S. Woods and Glen Doherty.
