    look, we may be :aus-delenda-est: for a number of other reasons, but I at least respect that we do preferential voting/RCV in our House of Reps and Single Transferrable Vote in our senate instead of FPTP cuck shit

    We have RCV for almost every election in the state. I've seen it effect one outcome, and it was something like a 9 way race for 6 seats in a local, off year, spring election. One of the right wingers got pushed out by RCV because liberal/progressive candidates campaigned on a slate, and the other just didn't get enough votes. The most radical candidate also lost though RCV did not affect that.

        Nah, centrists actually complain that it causes a "centrist squeeze" where in a 3 way race between left, right, and center, the centrist gets eliminated first even though they would have been the least hated outcome (which of course to them is the ideal outcome).
