Kinda serious question. Is it just market research or do they have a behind the scenes arrangement with the other capitalists?

yeah. plus ive heard they dont have freezers in their stores so all locations need to be within a certain distance of their distribution centers

Doesn’t Wendy’s have the same deal tho? Or can they just afford to do it since they’re already so large

They'd just have more distribution centers. I work in a nationwide chain restaurant and we don't have a freezer, but our trucks don't need to come from very far away.

I think they can just afford it, and they also franchise which really speeds things up and comes with a whole set of pros/cons. In-n-out is privately held, their quality of product and service is better than Wendy's, but when it comes to expansion they actually need to put in work to maintain that level and not let it slip (then they're just average and lose 100% of their marketing strategy. It's gonna be slow.

Yeah that's what i've heard too, I've always wondered how their distribution chain works, and where all their sources are. Maybe it's all bs, but I think it would be a cool little petri dish of economics vs. geography to study from a materialist POV.

Yeah we're so alienated from where our treats come from and how the supply chains all connect. It'd be cool to do a field trip to one of those distribution centers and see how all the pieces come together.
