Unfortunately for Ukraine, the US has never intended to be a friend with them and simply has and is using it for US interests.
I do feel sympathy for average Ukrainians (far far far more than I do for Israelis that's for fucking sure) who weren't nationalists, who weren't this weird anti-Soviet and then anti-Russia thing. They're being double fucked by US interests and now a literal war.
All I can say is the only way out of hell is the same as it's been for two years. Negotiate with Russia, suck it up, maybe (probably) he'll leave Kiev alone.
All I know is Ukraine will never have the bloodpact, "to the death" relationship that Israel has. No one with enough funding gives enough shits about Ukraine. Sorry, that's just reality.
Honestly if I were in Ukraine I'd probably be leaning towards some sort of conditional joining of the Russian Federation. NATO is never gonna allow Ukraine in, but if Russia lets Ukraine unite in an alliance that will (or should if the US isn't trying to suicide itself...) end CIA, etc. operations in Ukraine and end realistic chances of future conflict. Of course the nationalists there, and presumably many normal Ukrainians who see Russia as the aggressor now, will not be allowing that any time soon... so... I dunno.
Ukraine is fucked and they can blame their own Nazi nationalist dipshits and US intervention mostly. They bet on Russia being down for good after USSR fell and they bet that the US gave a shit... they were wrong on both accounts. And "they" are their right wing nationalists who were in control of things. Not to blame the overall population. They aren't as insane as the Israelis, who I will blame on a population level because holy fucking shit the polling done there... insane.
