I think he's just a dunce and assumes Egypt had some huge empire becuase how prominent it has been in European history. Its honestly hard to think of something you could even call a Egyptian Empire since between 500 BC when the Persians conquered Egypt to Nasser in 1952, Egypt was ruled by non-Eyptians and usually a subject of a larger empire.
But it would be hilarious if he was acutally thinking of Pharoanic Egypt and complaining that people are ignoring Ramasses invading the Hittites or Akhenaten forcing people to worship the sun.
