I’m playing through the remake now and getting intensely anticapitalist vibes

I like the whole underlying shared consciousness vibes, I dislike/misunderstand the fragmented genetic clones thing. Was jenova an embodiment of mako/lifestream? Or was it just doctor whatsisface in (niblheim?) that created mako soldiers (and Vincent?) and it went awry?

Idfk its been years since I revisited it and this is pushing the bounds of my latent memories of it all

Jenova was an alien from space that crashed into Gia, earth whatever it's called, and killed off the cetra. Soldiers like Sephiroth and Cloud have Jenova cells in them which is why Sephiroth can control Cloud sometimes. There's a whole big debate on if Jenova was controlling Sephiroth or not. I think anyway, from what my memory remembers of VII

Wait so jenova is meteor? Also cetra, thank you, could only remember ancients (fuck that temple holy shit). Also just me or does that wall boss look like one of the jenovas (birth? Idk have to check)

Yeah Jenova was the "calamity from the sky" the first like impact that hit gia and made the northern crater. Yeah the wall boss kind of does look like Jenova but it's actually a callback to an older FF boss called the wall monster, iirc

That's right. Ive toyed with the idea of the cover art as a tattoo but 1) it's very 'thick'/would just be a dark circle mostly and 2) idk about putting commercial bullshit on my body
I didnt know that about the wall monster! vii was my first, which is why moogles will forever be mogs in my mind
