:vegan-edge: Veganism isn't a diet, it's about animal liberation.

Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose

bro if it's owned by a diary company it's not really vegan. it's not about diet it's about systems, the systems that feed us being the most political and intertwined of all. just don't buy the shitty fake cheese.

I don't think I could apply that logic to everything I eat. The beans I buy are made by a company that sells animal products, and I would bet that's the same for every bean company.

I mean obviously try to avoid nestle brand vegan chocolate, but buying only from vegan companies is literally impossible

If it's a dairy company, it almost certainly has animal ag lobbyists and advertisements creating demand as well as supply, It's not the same to a business model like a grocer, a supermarket and I presume a supplier that actually responds to supply and demand.
