      That's how it is with bees. When the queen starts to get old and begins to lay less eggs, the workers sense this and begin feeding selected larvae a special concoction of hormones that turns them into queens. Once the new queens hatch they immediately kill the old queen, then they kill each other in a sort of battle royale tournament. Then the sole winner is pushed into the outside world by the workers, along with fertilized male drones. The drones gangbang the new queen in midair, then she comes back to the nest where she will lay eggs for the rest of her existence, until one day she too will get old and the cycle will continue.
