Post your anthems! My first contribution is Johnny Adams improving an old Stones song significantly.
"Laten John Adams Jr. (January 5, 1932 – September 14, 1998),was an American blues, jazz and gospel singer, known as "The Tan Canary" for the multi-octave range of his singing voice, his swooping vocal mannerisms and falsetto. His biggest hits were his versions of "Release Me" and "Reconsider Me" in the late 1960s."

You're welcome!
I have a lot more coming, and if people contribute enough I might throw together a quick mix for people to download.
I might just make a YT playlist, but for the exact reasons as you, I don't do Spotify. And yes, fuck the Stones FR.
All right, this is the playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzhisC20FwZjCqKzwQmIiuDoGze4fjyor
Right now it's mostly old songs and a lot of Jamaican music, so I would very much appreciate any newer music and other genres, next I'm adding punk and metal, to make the list somewhat coherent.
Wow.. I'm ashamed I've never heard of him before. Fucking great stuff.
This isn't on that level, but I dig it.

(I mainly just love this fuckin' band. i'm not really positive this is explicitly about the working class. pretty sure it's about addiction. but I know the exploitation and alienation has made me feel exactly like this. also; self-medicating, capitalism, etc.)Yeah, the list isn't all about socialism, the theme is more working class expression and experiences. TBH most straight propaganda music doesn't have any soul or swing to me. But maybe there are exceptions?
I'm not sure what the difference is, tbh. Righteousness is great and def has it's place, but I think it helps if there's passion in it as well.
Dead Prez put it best, I reckon.
one thing 'bout music when it hit you feel no pain
White folks say it controls your brain
I know better than that, that's game
Cool tune! I've added it to the playlist!
I think I first heard Johnny Adams in the Caribbean, in Jamaica and other English speaking islands its kind of a new years evergreen, got people firing guns in the air, beating on fences and walls, all of that.
I have now updated the list with around 200 punk songs, somewhat chronologically, and I haven't even reached the 90s. As always, suggestions and contributions welcome!
