Child asked for a pride flag shirt "to be a good ally" and I thought that was sweet, but when it didn't arrive on time from the little shop we ordered it from, he got a little upset. Turns out he wants to troll his classmates with it, basically. He told me they're "all" Christian and don't believe in gay rights. Need to definitely refine and hone these contrarian tendencies, but hopefully his spite-based belief system will give way to real support.
I would have a hard time not being amused by this lol. It's the right idea but the wrong energy for sure.

He wore it yesterday and said that he didn't start much of a debate sadly. I think he got addicted to the feeling he got when he defended evolution in class and it turned into a very big thing from what his teachers told me (in a good way, they liked it).
Ha! Not all lines cast catch fish, such is the way of things. I can imagine that a well-received defense of evolution would fill someone with that energy, though! Sounds like a sharp arrow you have on your hands.
One day kiddo 2 will sleep through the night... 😴 until then I will be zombified 🧟
Can't wait until my three year old develops a bit more emotional intelligence, because having battles over the tiniest things everyday is a struggle lol.
Took the fam to see the total eclipse on Monday and I will forever cherish the memory of sharing the feelings of wonder and excitement with my kiddos.
That's pretty awesome. There was a little event at the middle school I work at for the kids, pretty cool, but not as cool as a total eclipse. The kids had a real "neat!" vibe about it, but not nearly as impressed as what I imagine a total eclipse would bring.
and neither of them want to go to bed!
