    I think the MCU is unintentionally magical realism because it's the only way to explain so many of the massive plot holes and implausible reactions by regular people throughout the series. For example, people having virtually unlimited magical powers and not doing anything useful with them is a very magical realism vibe imo.

      I assume the comics ruin things more with detailed scifi shit explanations

      in a lot of cases i think it's the opposite. a complaint i hear from comics fans a lot is that the mcu makes everything magic into scifi. like dr strange has more fantasy going on in the comics, or thor being presented as just an alien in the mcu (though this is inconsistent)
