    It's a reference to a line in Star Trek IV, where the Enterprise crew are in the 20th century to bring some whales back to the 23rd. Kirk explains Spock's behavior to someone by saying he "did a little too much LDS in the 60s".

        He says "LDS", that's the joke. In commie space future either there are no drugs or we've invented better hallucinogens, either way it's an attempt to place Kirk and Spock as men out of their own time.
