Curious what vibes are apparent. I like what's here but I'm not sure it's doing what I want it to.
Kinda reminds me of the art style from this comic
Here's an example shot
ShowIt really feels like your works lightly touching on Chinese mysticism and I really dig it.
I'd say there's definitely some Japanese influence in the architectural and interior design, but I tried to avoid a direct reference by having more solid walls, wood flooring instead of tatami mats, and flags instead of those seal stickers. I guess that might end up looking more Chinese.
It looks like they are an occult scholar of some fashion. Not like a maddened wizard but just a smart person who knows magic shit and knows the details behind it
Yeah, that is what it looks like. I want to communicate a little more unease. Not exactly a mad wizard, but definitely not someone who is comfortable and stable either. Knowing their shit is a sticky thing. They definitely are practiced and exceptionally familiar with what they're doing, which I do want to convey, but in a way that is unpleasant. I guess I want to show that they are calm, or focused, but that that calm is utterly tenuous.
I tried to use some of the clutter around them to convey a sense of disorder at the edges, but I think it might be reading as just a sort of familiar disarray to certain kinds of people who have very specialized workspaces.
I was gonna say, it looks just messy and cramped enough that I get kind of a reclusive vibe

That’s exactly what I thought. Like they know it’s a little messy but they know where everything is and could grab it in an instant if needed
This whole art dope by the way. It’s super rad
Apprentice occultist practicing their glyphs and getting extremely bored while the other kids play outside
