I'm genuinely distressed by the prospect of this. Signal was FINALLY the breakthrough in mass adoption of encrypted messaging that we needed in the US, and it's all going to go away because people can't be bothered to have more than one messaging app. And I don't mean that sarcastically, it's a completely reasonable thing to want.
Tbh I gave up and installed like 5 different messaging apps and my life hasn't gotten that much worse. But maybe I'm almost not really messaging that many people

My life hasn't gotten worse, but my phone battery's life has.
